Setup: Your computer
Choose where coding work runs: on your own computer with your Claude and ChatGPT plans after your CEO has AI access for planning, or only in Crewshal's cloud.
The two optionsLink to The two options
- My computer: your Claude Code and Codex run coding work on your computer with the Claude and ChatGPT plans you already pay for, after your CEO has AI access for planning and review. Crewshal never sees your logins. You install a small program, the runner.
- Crewshal's cloud only: nothing to install. Hosted workers use your API keys or the included allowance, billed per use.
Crewshal marks one option Recommended:
- When one of your runners is already online, or you use a Mac or Linux, it recommends My computer.
- On Windows, a phone or a tablet, it recommends Crewshal's cloud only. On Windows the runner needs WSL.
You can add your computer later in both cases.
Connect your computerLink to Connect your computer
- An owner or admin accepts the vendor terms first. Read the note, select the checkbox and select Allow runners. See Subscriptions and vendor terms.
- Open Terminal on the computer where you use Claude Code or Codex. Run the command on the page. It starts with
curl -fsSLand ends with/install/runner.sh | sh. - The installer puts the runner in your home folder. It offers to sign you in to Claude and ChatGPT on their own pages.
- A browser tab opens. Approve this computer there.
The runner needs Node.js 22 or newer on macOS or Linux. On Windows, run it in WSL.
When it connectsLink to When it connects
The page updates by itself. Your computer shows as Online, with the sign-in state of Claude Code and Codex. When the runner connects while the page is open, the wizard goes to the next page after 2 seconds. Select Stay here to stop that.
Continue without itLink to Continue without it
Select Continue without it to go on. You can connect your computer later in Model accounts → Runners. You can change where work runs later in Brain & Models.
